Is there a language project here for which you could specifically pray? Some translations need prayer to overcome obstacles and others simply need funding to complete the master translation.
VISION OVERALL
The Lord has given us at The God's Story Project
a challenge.
In Jesus' day a little boy offered his lunch of five
loaves and three fishes, and the Lord multiplied it to
feed 5,000 men plus women and children.
The Bible says, "Man shall not live by bread
alone." We offer our video to the Lord to be
multiplied into spiritual food for the 6,731 languages of
the world.
The reports coming in from around the world show us that
God is guiding missionaries and national Christian
evangelists and teachers to use chronological
presentation of the Bible as the most effective way of
teaching.
Whether or not a people group has copies of the Scripture
in their tongue, or whether or not they can even read the
Scriptures—the Old and New Testaments as laid out in
the God's Story video can deliver God's message of
redemption and hope to them.
Every tongue in the world can be reached as long as there
is one person who can translate a twelve-thousand word
script and someone who will deliver this storytelling
format of the Bible to the people.
Why stop short of this? Please pray and stand with us.
AFRICA
As more languages go into the translation
process, we need to locate qualified production studios
on each continent that can partner with us on
post-production mixing. This will speed up the process of
getting new languages out to the people who need to view
this Gospel video.
CANTONESE
A missionary couple which works among the more
71 million speakers of Cantonese (China and Hong Kong)
wants to proceed with producing God's Story, but
so far they have not been able to raise funding. They
only need a total of $1,700.00 to have this tool in their
hands. While Hong Kong still has some openness, we need
to pray for the speedy supply of funds and fast
production of this major language.
INDIA
Recent tragic word coming
out of India says that Christian leaders are being killed
faster that the Bible schools can turn out new leaders.
God's word could light up this dark country. We have God's
Story finished in Hindi, which is spoken by 357
million people. .
Indians love videos! In fact, India stands as the number
one market for videos.
We need Christians with a heart for India to help provide
master tapes to the brave native evangelists who are
traveling from town to town, village to village,
preaching the Gospel. Providing the evangelists with the
ability to reproduce the Hindi God's Story will
allow them to sell videos for a small sum to help support
their commitment to evangelize as well as enable them to
give videos to those to poor to purchase copies. This
way, even when evangelists leave a village, the children
and adults who cannot read, can see and hear the Bible
message again and again.
AMHARIC
The 22 million speakers of Amharic, who reside
mostly in Ethiopia, can now look forward to hearing and
seeing the Gospel in their own "heart"
language. One dedicated Christian who reaches out to
these people has begun raising funds for God's Story
in this language. He has the translators and the narrator
lined up, but needs the funding to get started. Pray that
the Lord will quickly send in the support through His
children. We are told that these people readily respond
to the Gospel when they see the connecting of the Old and
New Testaments.
MIDDLE EAST AND CENTRAL ASIA
More than a few languages are in progress in
these two dangerous areas. Please pray for the
translators and those who plan to distribute the various
languages when completed. They risk expulsion from their
counties of service at the least, and disappearance or
death at the most. These Christians, committed to the
front lines, must have our prayers to survive.
ALBANIAN
Praise God. His surprise move on this language will
quickly meet the needs of a desperate people. The full
funding came all in one day and the translators have
moved everything aside with the goal of completing this
script work in two weeks! Pray for their protection and
that God will guide them in this vital project.
DISTRIBUTION IN THE USA
In the USA, English-speaking Christians have
difficulty sharing their faith with ethnic pockets of non
English-speaking people living nearby. Now that multiple
languages of God's Story are available, please
pray that many Christians will get the vision of using
this Bible video to share the Gospel with neighbors in
their own "heart" language.
ARMENIAN
A group has pledged to partner with us. One strong
believer, who ministers in Armenia by faith, is working
to complete the script in Armenian. Pray for his support
and that the funds for production will come in.
ASIA
Numerous languages for unreached people in Asia and the
Island Nations are in progress. It seems the greater the
need is for the message of the Bible to get to a people
group, the greater the danger becomes for those who step
in the gap to deliver God's Word. Pray for the safety of
those currently working on the translations of God's
Story and for those who are considering coming along
side.
BRAZILIAN-PORTUGUESE
Requests continue to come to us from individuals who want
to use God's Story in Portuguese, but still we have no
partnerships or funding.
CENTRAL AMERICA
Six languages are now in stages of negotiation or
translation. Tribal groups ranging in size from from
25,000 to 4 million will be touched by these versions.
Pray for the script translators as these languages are
mostly based on ideas so word for word translation does
not work. Specifically we need the Holy Spirit to guide
translators on how to preserve the message of God's Story
in the new languages (which take much longer to state a
principle than the original English script) yet to say
within the same 80-minute length as this video format is
linear (static in length.)
DARI
An experienced group that ministers in Afghanistan has
agreed to partner with The God's Story Project but the
work is slow and the need is now.
HOME OFFICE
As the number of language projects continues to multiply,
please pray that the Lord will send volunteer office
assistance to help keep up with this fruitful and
exciting translation work.
MONGOLIAN
Script and disc recorder are in Mongolia, script is in
process and funding is more than half in. Pray that this
will be completed quickly, and that those who are
committed to distributing it will be given wisdom and
protection.
ROMANIAN
This translation nearly finished. Pray that the path will
clear to speedily complete and distribute the video in
this desperately dark country.
TAGALOG
There is great turmoil in Philippine society right now.
For 53 million people, Tagalog is their heart language.
We continue to have interest by ministries, but no one
yet has committed to working with us. God's Story
could help many people find Jesus in a time of unrest.
